Wounds, a new horror thriller from writer/director Babak Anvari (Under the Shadow), is set to premiere on Hulu next month and the new trailer is intense!
Starring Dakota Johnson (Bad Times at the El Royale) and Armie Hammer (Call Me By Your Name), the film follows a New Orleans bartender named Will (Hammer) who finds himself in the middle of a terrifying mystery after he picks up a cellphone left behind his bar.
The phone is filled with disturbing videos and strange texts–“We shouldn’t have messed with those books! I’m scared!!”–and soon Will and his girlfriend Carrie (Johnson) find their home overrun with insects and filled with strange visions.
This new trailer is near-perfect, giving viewers just enough to whet the appetite without telling the whole story in the process.
Hammer and Johnson previously appeared together in The Social Network, though they shared no scenes in that film. The cast also includes Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Brad William Henke (Bright), Karl Glusman (The Neon Demon), Kerry Cahill (Free State of Jones), and Kenneth Kynt Bryan (Scream Queens).
The film premiered at Sundance this year and went on to play at the distinguished Cannes Film Festival according to Entertainment Weekly.
Wounds is set to release on October 18, 2019 on Hulu. Check out the trailer below!
