We’re just over 2 months away from the premiere of Blumhouse/Universal’s Halloween, hands down the most hotly anticipated horror movie of 2018. The film’s release is timed to coincide with the 40th Anniversary of John Carpenter’s original Halloween, which is apropos as it’s being billed as a direct sequel to the hugely influential classic from 1978.

There’s a lot riding on this film, and with legions of hardcore fans, chances are it won’t please everyone. Still, we’ve got high hopes. As for what fans are most anxious to see when Halloween slashes into US Theaters on October 19th, our friends at WatchMojo have assembled a video list: The Top 5 Things We Want to See in Halloween (2018)!

While we already know that all of the Halloween sequels are off limits in this new installment, we can’t help but wonder where this revolutionary franchise is going. Based on the brand-new trailer, we can’t wait to see an aged Michael Myers go to war with Laurie Strode. What does this new movie bring to the table? We can’t help but speculate.

    1. Easter Eggs for all past Halloween franchise sequels.
    2. A return to the minimalism of John Carpenter’s Halloween.
    3. Michael Myers as a manifestation of pure evil, not a complex antihero with a backstory.
    4. The best yet showdown between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode.
    5. A new iconic score composed by John Carpenter.

A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac’s night of terror — but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way. In the decades following the fateful Halloween night that forever altered the former babysitter’s life, Laurie has armed and prepped herself for Michael’s inevitable return — to the detriment of her family, including daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson.

Halloween is directed by David Gordon-Green from a script he co-wrote with Danny McBride; the films stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Nick Castle, and Judy Greer. Look for it in US Theaters beginning October 19th.
