Shaun of the Lifeless and Child Driver‘s Edgar Wright is getting again behind the digicam for The Chain, a bonkers sounding kidnapping thriller for Common Footage, experiences Deadline.
Clearly impressed by the 1970 brief story “Button, Button” by Richard Matheson, which was tailored into an episode of “The Twilight Zone” and the function movie The Field, directed by Richard Kelly:
“The Chain tells the story of Rachel, who learns that her 11-year-old daughter has been kidnapped. The one approach to get her again is to kidnap one other little one.
“Her daughter shall be launched solely when that subsequent sufferer’s mother and father kidnap one other little one. If Rachel doesn’t kidnap one other little one, or if that little one’s mother and father don’t kidnap a baby, her daughter shall be murdered. She is now a part of The Chain, a terrifying and meticulous chain letter-like kidnapping scheme that turns mother and father from victims into criminals.”
The 2019 bestselling novel is by Adrian McKinty. Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Golden Circle, X-Males: First Class) is writing the script.
Edgar Wright‘s new film Final Night time in Soho had was lately pulled from its September 2020 launch date and is now set for a theatrical run on April 23, 2021.
