Filmmaker Scott Derrickson (dir. Sinister & Physician Unusual) has simply dropped the one-sheet for The Black Telephone onto Twitter, and truthfully, I wasn’t prepared.
The terrifying poster for Blumhouse’s upcoming massive function showcases star Ethan Hawke in a ghoulish masks harking back to Lon Chaney in London After Midnight. Please make it cease. The poster drop comes forward of tonight’s World Premiere at Implausible Fest and it serves as one hell of a robust first impression.
The Black Telephone relies on a 2004 story by creator and nationwide treasure Joe Hill that includes a younger boy kidnapped by a brutal assassin. Whereas trapped within the maniac’s cellar, the boy uncovers a disconnected black telephone which appears to have the ability to forecast the voices of the assassin’s earlier victims.
